The air is damp and the
old table fan is struggling with heat.
At night I turn on the
radio, looking for music stations that provide me with soul food.
Almost at midnight, a
neighbour came by, asking for cigarettes, I invite him in for a drink.
We talk about trivial
things when he told me that he is dying from cancer.
Lately that night I heard
the ambulance sirens.
It started to rain.
